Doug is a full-time musician as an instructor of banjo, guitar and mandolin to both young and old, in addition to playing with CYG.  With over 30 years in the music business, Doug has played with numerous groups including George Thomas & Friends, The Bluegrass Cardinals, George Winn & the Bluegrass Partners and Flatland Bluegrass Band, just to name a few.  He resides in New Kent County, Virginia, is married to Deirdre and has one son, Haggis, a 19 lb. orange tabby cat.  Word has it that Doug's favorite food is anything, except liver. 

 As a life-long member of the Presbyterian Church, Doug remembers wanting to help ring the “call to worship” church bell, but not weighing enough to not be pulled up by the rope.  Doug’s gifts of music in ministry and visitation are where God has used him since he was young (which he claims was just a few years ago….).
