News Journal

Another year has gone by and we reflect on the blessings that God provided us in 2006.  We were afforded many opportunities to share His word through our music and hope that we have planted some seeds and made a difference in someone's life. Thank you to all of our fans for their continued support and we look forward to seeing you in the upcoming year.

As many of you know, our mandolin player, Doug Cherrington, is no longer a permanent member of CYG.   Since Doug has encountered some health problems which currently have hindered his ability to play concerts on a regular basis, he has decided to support the group as an "on call" musician.  We were fortunate to have had Doug share his talents with us for four years and would like to thank him for his tremendous contribution to the group.  Doug continues to give music lessons for guitar, banjo and mandolin at Harrison Music in Richmond, Virginia.

We are beginning 2007 with great anticipation of reuniting with old friends and making new friends, as well.  Our 2007 schedule kicks off with a night at Riverview Nursing Home in Hopewell, Virginia, on Thursday, January 4th.  It is such a joy to visit with these folks.  The following week on Sunday, January 14th, we're off to worship in song with Reverend James Harrington's congregation at Fellowship Baptist Church in Moyock, North Carolina.  The month ends with dinner and music at St. John's Catholic Church in Highland Springs, Virginia, on Friday, January 26th and then on Saturday, January 27th, we look forward to worshiping with the gang at The Gospel Chicken House in Montpelier, Virginia.  If you've never been to The Gospel Chicken House, you have truly missed a blessing.  Please take the opportunity to visit with them when you can.  They host the longest running, weekly, gospel music sing in the Nation.  Please check our schedule for links to more details on these events.

Happy New Year to each of you and please remember to keep the leaders of our Country and those who are in the armed services in your prayers.
